Course description
Improve your ability to plan a more complex sewing project and learn to refine your budgeting, measurement, pattern management, fabric handling, sewing machine and hand-sewing skills. Plan and deliver one project to a professional standard this term. Widen your knowledge of the qualities of different types of fabric and produce samples, recordings and photos for your folder (online and on paper) every week. In addition to sewing; citizenship, employability and digital skills will also be embedded in the programme to help you develop valuable transferable skills.
Assessment of learning will be done regularly throughout the course so that you can map your academic progression with us at the WEA.
Information, advice and guidance will also be given to enable further course/professional progression to enable you to progress into other study areas or prepare you for the world of employment.
