Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.
Advanced: Build on the solid experience and skills you have in this subject, applying your skills and knowledge in a more complex way.

Course description
This course offers you, as speakers of other languages, the opportunity to learn more about the roles, responsibilities and key aspects of the work of, Community Interpreters.
This is a non-accredited course designed to introduce learners to the Community Interpreting profession.
You will learn about
The varied settings in which a Community Interpreter can work.
The varied dynamics of communities, and access to public services, within the UK, and the various challenges which service users may encounter.
How to anticipate and adapt to the situational, social and language difficulties which can arise in community interpreting situations
How to compare the public service provision which exists in the UK to that which exists in other countries.
How you may later move on to complete a further, specialist, accredited Community Interpreting training course.
