A better experience for our learners
Over the last 18 months, we have been working hard to improve your learner experience, which is the website you are browsing today.
We listened carefully to feedback shared with us by our learners through surveys and focus groups to design an experience which really works for them. I am sure if you have visited the old WEA website, that you will agree this a big improvement.
Here are the key features of the new site:
It is now much easier to find courses through a keyword search on our website, and will become easier over time to find us through search engines like Google.
You can search by topic, subject, tutor and WEA branch, and narrow down your results by distance from you and how you want to learn.
In the site menu, you will find pages dedicated to different types of courses, to inspire you with options in your area of interest.
A clearer and more appealing website
We have ensured that our website is accessible for everyone, including learners with limited vision and those using screen readers.
We are proud to say that this website meets the four criteria to be compliant. You can learn more about this in our accessibility policy.
We’ve also made our learners more visible in the site. We know their successes are what inspires other to believe, and we really want to celebrate learner progress.
Improved help, support & guidance
While designing our digital experience we ensured we built in some person-to-person time!
Between 10am-4pm Monday-Friday our team will be available to answer any questions through our new live chat service. (Look for the 'Chat with our team' button).
We will also proactively contact you to make sure you are on the right course for you, and that your tutor knows about any additional support you may need.
A new one-stop-shop Learner Hub
You can update your details, access your learning, communicate with your tutor, and review your progress through your new .
Having one username and password, from the moment you book your course, will make life much easier, versus the old website.
Access to Microsoft Office online
As a learner with the WEA you have access to Office 365 tools such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint – essential tools to today's learners – without the need to purchase a licence.
Vibrant new Member and Volunteer areas
If you are (or choose to become) a WEA member or volunteer, you now have more attractive and easier to use areas on the website to access lecture recordings, news, offers and magazine issues.
You will be able to update your details, renew your membership and express an interest in different volunteering opportunities, all in one place.
Browse the website, find a course and enjoy looking around!
We look forward to adding lots of exciting new content as we head into 2023 and beyond.
