Entry Levels 1,2,3: If you have never studied this subject before and you’re not confident in your skills, Entry levels are a good starting point.
Level 1: Covers basic skills and knowledge needed for this subject
Level 2: Building on basic knowledge or experience. Similar to Grade 4/ C at GCSE or O level in England or Standards in Scotland.
Level 3: Learn about the topic in-depth and have a broad range of skills. Independent working Equivalent to an A level in England or Higher in Scotland.
Beginners: A perfect introduction if you have no experience and skills in this subject.
Improvers: The next step if you have basic skills or knowledge but want to progress them further.
Advanced: Build on the solid experience and skills you have in this subject, applying your skills and knowledge in a more complex way.

Course description
What we’ll cover: •You will continue to learn English numbers, on this course you will work on the numbers 11-20. – You will learn the English alphabet and recognise letters in upper and lower case. • You will start to learn how to talk about your feelings and what you like and don’t like • Understand the main points of a text talking about events or instructions. • You will learn and practice how to use letter sounds to read words. This is an English course for adults. You will work on developing your reading, writing and speaking & listening skills. You need foundational English skills to take this course, that’s why you’ll need to do a skills check to enrol. Don’t worry, this isn’t an exam. It’s for us to make sure you get on the right course for your level. Our friendly team will contact you to start your skills check as part of your booking. When you complete this module, you can continue with other ESOL courses.. What to expect This ESOL skills for life pre entry 2 course takes 64 hours to complete. The WEA is an experienced ESOL course provider. We want you to get the most out of your studies and open doors to opportunities. Our tutors and staff will help you with any language needs you might have. The WEA is committed to providing accessible adult education. Please let us know if you have any special requirements to be able to take these ESOL classes comfortably. Most of our courses are free for most of our learners. Please note that you need to get to the end of the enrolment process to see the discounts.
