Course overview

Develop foundational writing skills with this non-accredited Pre-entry Writing course. This English course is for speakers of other languages and is a face-to-face class in a local centre. This ESOL writing course helps people who are just starting to learn English. It will help you gain confidence writing the alphabet, writing short simple sentences, and common words in English. What we will cover: - Write the letters of the alphabet in upper and lower case; write simple sentences using basic punctuation; common English words that are used in everyday situations, complete very simple applications with personal details, and write simple text messages. This course is funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority.

Course description

This is a Pre-entry English course for adults. You will work on basic writing skills. It’s aimed at complete beginners so you don’t need any prior knowledge.

When you complete this module, you can continue with other Pre-entry ESOL courses. Once you finish the reading, writing, and speaking & listening courses, you can progress to entry 1 level.

There are also “Get Ready” courses between each module to prepare you for the next course.

This ESOL writing course takes around 48 hours to complete.

Please note that you will need an internet connection to study this English course for beginners. This is so you can access our digital learning platform called Canvas.
